The Gathering Autumnal Colors
Fall arrives with a quiet transformation. The brilliant greens of summer begin to soften into warm amber, burnished gold, russet, and deep woodland brown, while the first cool mornings hint at the season ahead. We find ourselves anticipating the rustle of leaves beneath our feet, the crispness in the evening air, and the comforting scent of spiced cider warming on the stove. Days grow shorter, twilight comes earlier, and evenings invite us outdoors just a little longer—gathered around a fire pit beneath a clear autumn sky.
In the woven textures of Harris Tweed®, those autumn tones take on an even deeper character. Rich heather, moss, chestnut, copper, and golden ochre echo the landscapes of the Scottish Highlands—windswept moors, wooded hillsides, peat-dark earth, and fields turning slowly toward winter. The subtle flecks and layered colors seem to capture autumn itself: the glow of leaves in fading sunlight, the warmth of wool against cool air, and the quiet beauty of a landscape preparing for the season ahead. Fall colors don’t simply mark a change in the year; they invite us to slow down, gather close, and savor the warmth, texture, and unmistakable comfort of autumn.

My Story
Sewing runs in in my blood my early passion carried on from when I was very you through high school and beyond. I sewed my own clothing, including her prom dresses — and that never left me.
About 10 years ago, frustrated by the lack of quality in store-bought bags, I turned my focus to making quality handbags that were classic and that I knew would last, so in September 2021, encouraged by the people who loved my work most, I took the leap and launched Squires Canvas Creations at a local market.

This is what I have always wanted. The pouch is well made. I know I will have it for years to come. It feels good and sturdy. Don’t have to worry about any “jingling” while I’m in attendance at a real quiet place. It’s a good accessory. I guess it’s just a “guy” thing for me.

I love my new leather pinch pouch. I needed to find something small and secure to hold my custom made musician ear plugs. The Leather Pinch Pouch fits he bill perfectly. It's the perfect size for the ear plugs plus an additional set of filters. It fits nicely into my small concert pouch and is made of really nice leather. I got it at a really great price. It still smells so good too!

I purchased my bag at the holiday market along with a crossbody strap to allow me to use it in that way. The chain strap was too long and unadjustable so I contacted Karen. I asked if there was an option for an adjustable leather strap and she made one for me and met up with me to do the exchange. Thank you!!
