Our leather is high quality vegetable tanned leather from Igualada, Spain.  Our hand cut and tolled leather straps are characterized by a waxed grain that exhibits a rich pull up with a beautiful grain appearance that highlights the natural character of the leather.

Igualada, Spain, has a rich tradition in leather tanning that spans centuries. The town, located near Barcelona, has been a key player in the leather industry since the Middle Ages.

Today, Igualada is known for its expertise in leather tanning, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques. The tanneries in Igualada produce high-quality leathers, often specializing in vegetable tanning, which involves using natural tannins found in plants. This eco-friendly approach not only results in durable leather but also aligns with contemporary standards of sustainability.

The natural vegetable tanned leather is not dyed to allow the leather to naturally patina over time and with use. Our Natural leather will age to a caramel color and burnish to a rich patina.
